My Favourite Movie || Narnia

  1. During the World War II bombings of London, four English siblings are sent to a country house where they will be safe. One day Lucy finds a wardrobe that transports her to a magical world called Narnia. After coming back, she soon returns to Narnia with her brothers, Peter and Edmund, and her sister, Susan. There they join the magical lion, Aslan, in the fight against the evil White Witch, Jadis.

    Out of hundred movies that i have watched i have chosen Narnia as my favourite as it is a very creative movie that has a deeper meaning that a lot of people don't seem to notice or choose to ignore which is why I love it so much. Before it was made into a movie this story was a very popular book written by C.S. Lewis and the movie was directed by Andrew Adamson. The website: Common Sense Media had given this movie a 4/5, IMDb a 6.9/10 and Rotten Tomatoes a 76/100.

    The movie as told by the synopsis is about 4 siblings named Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy were sent to a country house for safety and one day the siblings had accidentally visited a different world named Narnia by entering the closet. Everything was going swell until Edmund was captured by the white witch and the 3 siblings could only go to the former King Aslan to help their brother, Edmund finally had been released from the White Witch but still having to go at war with them. The 4 siblings had finally won the war and defeated the white witch before they were crowned Kings and Queens of Narnia.

    Personally i really like and enjoy watching the movie Narnia, it has a lot of good positive messages, great actors/actresses, and is suitable for kids aged above 9. Narnia is a very complex story and I enjoy how the movie is able to provide small details that are usually ignored by directors, it makes the movie more sensible and somehow realistic such as using a real life event like World War II and how they had to send off children to the countryside. I think that it is a very smart move by making things somehow relatable to our actual life as it can have the people watching the movie more indulged and attracted making them wonder what everything would be like if their life would be like the movie.

    The Narnia movie was well thought out and well played as they had amazing actors and actresses. Georgie Henley played Lucy remarkably well at a young age, Skandar Keynes was able to interpret his character's emotions very well along with William Moseley who played as Peter. I do think that Anna Popplewell could have played Susan a bit more realistically but together they were all able to create a great performance and amazing movie. The Narnia movie came out in the year 2005 yet it still had an "old-school" feeling to it while you watched it, like the way that they all dressed, the quality of the green screen and the way they spoke created an illusion of it being an old movie.
